Four Changemaker Resolutions and a Bingo Card
The start of a new year often comes with a familiar question: What do I want to do differently?
Most New Year’s resolutions focus on personal goals, careers, routines, or habits. Those things matter. But if you care about your community and the world around you, there’s another question worth asking too:
What kind of change do I want to help create this year?
Students for Change exists to make civic and community engagement more accessible. When people have clear tools and guidance, taking action feels possible. The Changemaker Resolutions and Bingo card below are designed to help with exactly that.
The Four Changemaker Resolutions for 2026
These four resolutions are meant to be simple, practical, and achievable for both students and adults. You don’t need to do everything at once. Small, consistent actions add up.
1. Learn & Share
Commit to learning about social, civic, or environmental issues throughout the year. That might look like reading a book, watching a documentary, or following a topic you care about more closely. Sharing one insight with someone else helps extend that learning beyond yourself.
2. Be Prepared
Being prepared means knowing who represents you, understanding local issues, and staying informed about when decisions are made that affect your community. Preparation makes participation more effective and less overwhelming.
3. Speak Up
Your voice matters. Speaking up can be as simple as contacting a representative, attending a public meeting, asking a question, or encouraging someone else to get involved. Civic engagement doesn’t have to be loud to be meaningful.
4. Give Back
Every community has people and organizations working to create positive change. Giving back might mean volunteering your time, offering a skill, donating when you are able, or showing up consistently to support a cause you believe in.

Turning Intentions Into Action
Resolutions are only powerful if they turn into action. To make these ideas easier to put into practice, we created a 2026 Changemaker Bingo card.
The bingo card includes simple, concrete actions such as:
- Calling or emailing a representative
- Attending a city council or school board meeting
- Reading a book or watching a documentary
- Volunteering locally or supporting a community organization
You don’t need to complete every square. Start with one, revisit it throughout the year, and see where it takes you.

A Year of Growth
Creating positive change doesn’t happen overnight. It happens through learning, preparation, participation, and support over time.
Here’s to a year of growth.
To building something meaningful.
To showing up, staying informed, and taking honest steps forward.
If making a difference is part of your goals for 2026, this is a place to start.
