From volunteering at a young age, Sabrina knew a career in the social sector was her calling. While pursuing her undergrad, she worked in leadership at the school’s volunteer department. In addition to providing resources and advice, she facilitated trainings to student and local leaders on topics such as fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and program development. During this time, she was active in multiple service organizations. Most notably, served as the Nonprofit Leadership Association’s President while earning her Nonprofit Leadership Certification. The summer before her senior year was when she connected with the founders of Students for Change. Immediately following graduation, Sabrina pursued her Master of Public Affairs at Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She designed her own concentration of Community Advocacy. With the chosen courses, she implemented the development of Students for Change into every assignment she possibly could. While in school, she worked at the school’s Student Affairs Office, a youth focused nonprofit, and a solar panel installation company. She spent some time after graduation conducting feasibility studies and managing capital campaigns for freelance clients. Her roles in program expansion, resource development and marketing helped her prepare for leading Students for Change.
